How to be Happy

Firstly, let's all agree that happiness, a state of being that we'd like to be living our lives mostly in, isn't just about rainbows, sunshine and unicorns.

Happiness is an emotional state characterised by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfilment. While happiness has many different definitions, it is often described as involving positive emotions and life satisfaction.
There are many ways to achieve/aspire towards this, and quite often, it's the tiniest steps outside our comfort zone that contribute to these feelings of satisfaction the most.

Three main things make people happy: close relationships, a job or past-time that they love and then there's the happiness that comes from helping others.

Money and material things, even though they can (and do) contribute a certain amount of ease and simplicity, people who emphasise them over and above all else are less happy than those who do not.

So with all that being said, a few points/suggestions on how to step into the state of BEing we call HAPPINESS.

1. Gratitude, Thankfulness & Appreciation for the little things in your life.

2. Spend time doing the things that you love, and that bring a smile to your face. Walking in Nature, Cups of tea on your deck, painting, organising your cupboards - however small or weird, just do it if it brings you joy.

3. Breathwork (this works) Take some breaths and feel the air in your lungs. Practise this for a few minutes per day and notice how you feel before and after. (it's like magic)

4. Spend time with family & friends - #CONNECTION

5. Go outside (away from your screen) - for the love of all things holy.

6. Get some good sleep.

7. Help someone else, and be of service. A phone-call, a check-in text, all these things actually brings us joy and happiness too, even though we may think they're in complete service to the other. What we give, we receive.

8. Smile at strangers as you walk past them on the street 😉

9. Listen to Music - always gets me jived.

Now you ... whether you comment below or take a note to self, how many of these things do you do? can you think of any more that you'd like to share with this community?
