What Is Subtle Energy? A Guide to Using Aroma-energetics to support your Subtle Energy.

The goal of every Subtle Energy Worker, whether they be a Movement Practitioner, an Energy Medicine Healer, or a Meditation Facilitator / Coach is to support themselves and their clients / students to a place of ease and peacefulness.

But with so many different subtle tools to choose from, it can be hard to find something that can help you seamlessly without affecting the flow of the practice so you can settle into your intention .

Oftentimes, it just comes down to misguided / clunky strategies. So you land up fumbling about, clanking around, or even losing track of your intuitive process because you’ve got too much to think about already, and adding something else just distracts you from what you’re trying to do anyways.

Maybe you’ve been attending workshops to learn what to do, and wondering if you’re actually on the right path.

It can make you feel dubious at the best of times.

Today, you’re in luck! I’m going to share a system that will help you raise your subtle energy, calm your mind, and keep you focussed on the task at hand, all without stressing you out.

I'll cover this subtle energy technique, how it works and how you can get started.

Keep reading for more details.

What Is Subtle Energy ?

Subtle energy refers to the concept of a vital life force or energy that is believed to exist beyond the scope of conventional scientific understanding. In various cultural and spiritual traditions, it is thought to be a subtle, intangible force that permeates all living things. Practices like energy healing or energy medicine aim to work with this subtle energy to bring about positive changes in an individual's physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Two Tangible Results from Practicing Energy Healing / Energy Medicine:

1. Improved Emotional Well-being: Practitioners often report a heightened sense of emotional balance and reduced stress levels through energy healing. Techniques like Reiki or acupuncture aim to clear blockages in the subtle energy system, promoting emotional harmony and resilience.

2. Enhanced Physical Healing: Some individuals experience accelerated recovery from physical ailments or injuries after engaging in energy healing practices. The idea is that by manipulating the subtle energy flow, practitioners can stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms.

People seeking holistic approaches to health and wellness may well find benefits from energy healing.

The underlying idea is that imbalances in the subtle energy system can lead to physical and mental health issues, and by rebalancing this energy, individuals may experience improved overall well-being. The big promise of energy healing is a comprehensive approach to health that goes beyond the purely physical, aiming to address the interconnected aspects of mind, body, and spirit in order to promote a state of optimal health and vitality.

Subtle energy medicine encompasses a variety of modalities, each with its unique approach to working with the purported subtle energies believed to influence health and well-being. They are widely used in holistic and alternative health communities.

Here are some key modalities:

1. Reiki: Rooted in Japanese tradition, Reiki involves the laying on of hands to channel healing energy to promote relaxation and facilitate the body's natural healing processes. Practitioners believe that Reiki energy flows through the palms, removing energy blockages.

2. Acupuncture: An ancient Chinese practice, acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to balance the flow of qi (pronounced "chee"), or vital energy. It is commonly used to address various physical and mental health conditions, including pain management and stress reduction.

3. Chakra Healing: Derived from Hindu and yogic traditions, chakra healing involves balancing the body's energy centers, known as chakras. Practitioners use various techniques such as meditation, visualisation, or specific exercises to align and harmonise these energy centers.

4. Qi Gong and Tai Chi: Rooted in Chinese martial arts and traditional medicine, Qi Gong and Tai Chi involve coordinated movements, breath-work, and meditation to cultivate and balance qi. These practices are thought to enhance vitality, promote relaxation, and support overall well-being.

5. Pranic Healing: Developed by Master Choa Kok Sui, Pranic Healing involves the manipulation of prana, or life force energy, to balance the body's energy field. Practitioners use techniques such as scanning, cleansing, and energising to promote physical and emotional healing.

6. Yoga: Originating from ancient Indian traditions, yoga involves physical postures, breath control, and meditation to harmonise the mind, body, and spirit. It is known for promoting flexibility, strength, and overall well-being.

7. Energy Psychology: Modalities like Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Thought Field Therapy (TFT) combine psychological principles with the concept of energy meridians. These practices involve tapping on specific points of the body to address emotional issues and promote psychological well-being.

8. Sound Healing: This involves the use of sound vibrations, such as singing bowls, gongs, or tuning forks, to influence the body's energy field. Sound healing is believed to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and balance the subtle energies within the body.

9. Subtle Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils to influence mood and well-being. It is believed that inhaling or applying essential oils can have therapeutic effects on the body and mind, promoting relaxation and balance.

10. Metaphysical aromatherapy: involves the use of essential oils not only for their physical properties but also for their purported energetic and metaphysical influences on the mind, emotions, and spiritual well-being.

Why Is Subtle Energy Medicine Important?

aka: Biofield therapy, Subtle Energy Medicine is used to direct the subtle energy systems of the body.

IN an article published in late 2021 in Psychology Today, it was noted that more than 1.6 million American adults undergo energy healing (aka biofield therapy) at least once a year. Statistics from this same article show that in 2015, there were reports filed that indicate how biofield therapies have helped hospitalised and ambulatory patients ease movement restrictions and chronic pain.

In summary, the statistic reflects a broader societal shift towards exploring and incorporating holistic health practices, with biofield therapy playing a notable role in the choices individuals make to address their health and well-being concerns.

Here's an expanded analysis of what this statistic may imply:

1. Increasing Popularity of Holistic Approaches: The substantial number of adults seeking biofield therapy suggests a growing acceptance and interest in holistic approaches to health and well-being. Individuals are exploring alternatives beyond conventional medicine, emphasising a more integrative and comprehensive approach to managing health issues.

2. Recognition of Biofield Therapies in Mainstream Culture: The adoption of biofield therapies by a considerable number of adults signifies a degree of acceptance and acknowledgment within mainstream culture. Practices that were once considered unconventional or on the fringe are gaining visibility and acceptance among the general population.

3. Perceived Benefits and Patient Satisfaction: The reported use of biofield therapy aligns with the perceived benefits mentioned, such as easing movement restrictions and chronic pain. This indicates a level of satisfaction among individuals seeking these therapies, as they continue to choose and incorporate these practices into their health and wellness routines.

4. Influence of Media and Information Access: The increasing accessibility of information, especially through online platforms and popular publications like Psychology Today, may contribute to the rise in biofield therapy adoption. Awareness campaigns, positive testimonials, and educational content about energy healing may be influencing individuals to explore these modalities.

5. Integration into Healthcare Practices: The statistic raises questions about the integration of biofield therapy into broader healthcare practices. If a substantial number of individuals are turning to energy healing, it prompts consideration for how these practices may complement or coexist with conventional medical treatments.

6. Areas of Application: Understanding the specific contexts in which biofield therapy is sought can provide insights. If, for instance, it is frequently used to address chronic pain or movement restrictions, it highlights potential areas where individuals may perceive the limitations of conventional medical interventions and seek alternative solutions.

7. Potential for Research and Validation: The popularity of biofield therapy opens avenues for further scientific research. Increased interest may prompt more rigorous studies to investigate the efficacy, mechanisms, and specific conditions under which these therapies can provide tangible benefits.

But how do energy workers who are skilled in their zone of genius, go about including new modalities in a way that’s easy, satisfying and effective?

By implementing subtle and metaphysical aromatherapy practices to your current skill-set, you’ll be able to help your clients and students see results quicker.

This way, you will have repeat customers, and your students and clients will be queuing up to see you and or be in your classes.

Also, applications of essential oils metaphysically gives you the ability to set yourself apart from other practitioners, and you’re also able to have your products in their homes whilst building a side hustle by selling your blends to your customers and students, so that they can continue their healing at home in between sessions.

That means you won’t have to ‘start again’ every time your client lies down on your table, or steps onto the mat.

Metaphysical Aromatherapy Examples

If using essential oils energetically sounds overwhelming, I get it.

When you try adding this to your current set of skills, it's overwhelming but with time, it becomes more manageable and even enjoyable. The experience of trying this for the first time can often be overwhelming due to the unfamiliarity and uncertainty associated with which oils to place on which points for what. Whether it's learning the new skill of finding an acupoint, starting a new type of offering and having to explain it to your clientele, or exploring a new way to add these protocols into your current classes , the initial stages are often characterized by a mix of excitement and apprehension.

During the initial phase, there is a lot to take in – new information, new application methods, and possibly new products. The learning curve can feel steep, and it's common to encounter challenges and obstacles. The overwhelming nature of the experience might make you question your abilities and whether you can handle this at all.

However, with the passage of time, familiarity sets in. As you spend more time engaged in these protocols, you start to grasp the nuances, understand the processes, and become more adept at handling the challenges. The initial overwhelm gradually transforms into a sense of competence and confidence.

Repetition and practice play a crucial role in this process. As you repeatedly engage in applying these oils to your own energy centres, your brain adapts, and you build a repertoire of experiences that contribute to a greater sense of ease. What once seemed daunting becomes second nature. The feeling of overwhelm is replaced by a growing comfort and a sense of mastery.

Moreover, as you gain more experience, you may find ways to optimise your approach and discover strategies to navigate complexities more efficiently. Mistakes made during the initial phase become valuable learning opportunities, and you develop resilience and problem-solving skills.

Over time, the overwhelming nature of the new experience transforms into a source of fulfilment and satisfaction. The challenges that once seemed insurmountable become milestones to celebrate. The journey from initial overwhelm to competence and, eventually, mastery, is a testament to human adaptability and the capacity for growth.

Trying something for the first time can indeed be overwhelming, but with time, patience, and persistent effort, the challenges become more manageable. The learning process not only builds skills but also cultivates resilience and a sense of accomplishment, turning what once felt daunting into a rewarding and enriching experience.

So with all of that being said, I put together the examples below to break it down for you so you can easily get started with Aroma Acupoint for Energy Workers.

Example #1. In a Yoga Setting

This is what I call Aroma Yoga - but with a twist.

Although this may seem like the Aroma Yoga I speak to in this blog post it’s actually a more energetic and subtle application method.

Plus, you either work with the oils and apply them to your students, or you teach them how to self-apply and you facilitate the practice with them.

AromaEnergetics combines the use of essential oils with traditional acupoint therapy to promote holistic well-being. Here's a general guide on how to apply essential oils to acupoints based on the AromaEnergetics Model:

1. Selecting Essential Oils:

   - Choose essential oils known for their energetic properties and effects. Different essential oils have various fragrance profiles such as Pungent, Woody, Sweet, Green, Lemony, Rooty, and each oil resonates with a few quantum acupoints in a way that stimulates each point uniquely.

2. Identify the Acupoints:

   - Choose and Locate the acupoints associated with the specific condition or effect you're targeting. Acupoints are specific points along the body's meridians used in traditional Chinese medicine.

3. Dilution:

   - Dilute essential oils with a carrier oil before applying them to the skin. This is especially important as some essential oils can be potent and may cause skin irritation if applied undiluted. There are different dilution ratios depending on the oil, but most are between 10-25%.

4. Application Techniques:

   - There are different ways to apply essential oils to acupoints:

  • Direct Application: Apply the diluted essential oil directly to the acupoint using gentle touch.

  • Use a cotton swab or earbud: Apply the diluted essential oil to the acupoint using the cotton earbud.

  • Palm Inhalation: Inhale the aroma of the essential oil before or during acupoint stimulation.

  • Aromatherapy Diffusion: Use a diffuser in the treatment room to create a calming or invigorating vibe.

5. Specific Points for Common Issues:

   - Here are a few examples of acupoints and corresponding essential oils for specific purposes:

  1. Calming Anxiety: Apply diluted lavender oil to acupoints like Heart 7 (HT7), Yintang (Third Eye), and Pericardium 6 (PC6).

  2. Boosting Energy: Apply diluted black spruce oil to acupoints such as Stomach 36 (ST36), Large Intestine 4 (LI4), and Spleen 6 (SP6).

  3. Relieving Headache: Apply diluted chamomile oil to acupoints like Large Intestine (LI4), and Gall Bladder 20 (GB20).

6. Personal Sensitivity:

   - Be mindful of individual sensitivities and preferences. Some people may react differently to certain essential oils, so it's important to consider personal reactions and adjust the choice of oils accordingly.

7. Consultation:

   - If you're not familiar with AromaEnergetics or have specific health concerns, consider consulting with me for guidance tailored to your individual needs.

That means that as a facilitator of the healing arts, you’ll be able to call your energy back so that you can stay fully present for the duration of your session with your students.

Example #2.

In a Reiki / Energy Healing Session

The more efficiently you can harmonise your energy the easier it will be to act as a conduit for energy to flow through you to your clients.

That’s where AromaEnergetics for energy workers come in because it’s a gentle hands-on method of treatment that allies the potency of essential oils with acupuncture.

This Modality can be a wonderful complement for Reiki practitioners, enhancing the overall energy healing experience. Here's a tailored approach for Reiki practitioners using aroma acupoint therapy:

1. Crown Chakra Balancing:

   - Essential Oils: Frankincense, Lavender, or Lotus

   - Acupoints: (GV20) - Apply a drop of oil at the crown of the head.

2. Third Eye Activation:

   - Essential Oils: Clary Sage, Sandalwood, or Juniper Berry

   - Acupoints: Yintang (third eye) - Apply on the forehead and between the eyebrows.

3. Throat Chakra Soothing:

   - Essential Oils: Chamomile, Eucalyptus, or Blue Tansy

   - Acupoints: (GB20), (LU7) - Apply on the throat and around the neck area.

4. Heart Chakra Nurturing:

   - Essential Oils: Rose, Geranium, or Ylang Ylang

   - Acupoints:  (HT7), (CV17) - Apply on the chest and over the heart.

5. Solar Plexus Empowerment:

   - Essential Oils: Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Green Mandarin

   - Acupoints: (PC6), (CV12) - Apply on the abdomen and solar plexus.

6. Sacral Chakra Harmonising:

   - Essential Oils: Orange, Patchouli, or Jasmine

   - Acupoints: (CV4), (SP6) - Apply on the lower abdomen and inner ankle.

7. Root Chakra Grounding:

   - Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Vetiver, or Ginger

   - Acupoints: (ST36)  - Apply on the feet, lower back, and base of the spine.

8. Aura Cleansing:

   - Essential Oils: Palo Santo, Clary Sage, or Myrrh

   - Acupoints: (GV20), (PC8) - Apply around the body's energy field and palms.

Before a Reiki session, consider diffusing a blend of essential oils in the treatment room to set a calming and harmonious atmosphere. Additionally, you can apply a chosen oil to your hands or wrists before starting the Reiki session, allowing the client to benefit from the combined effects of Reiki and aroma acupoint therapy.

Always ensure that the selected essential oils are safe for topical use and well-tolerated by the client, considering any potential sensitivities or allergies.

Example #3.

In a Holistic Coaching Session

The smoother your energy, the more effortlessly you can serve as a channel for energy to move through during your coaching sessions. This is where AromaEnergetics for holistic coaches becomes valuable.

AromaACuPoint Therapy stands out as a gentle and groundbreaking hands-on approach that blends the power of essential oils with principles from acupuncture. As a holistic coach, you can integrate this method to enhance the energetic flow within both yourself and your clients.

For instance:

Imagine a client comes to you seeking guidance on releasing emotional blockages and gaining clarity on their life path. As a holistic coach, you decide to integrate AromaEnergetics to enhance the coaching experience.

1. Begin with a thorough discussion to understand the client's emotional challenges and goals. Identify key areas of focus, such as emotional release, clarity, and overall well-being.

2. Choose essential oils that align with the client's objectives. For emotional release and clarity, you might select oils like Lavender, Frankincense, and Bergamot.

3. During the coaching session:

  • if in person, you could apply the selected essential oils to acupoints related to emotional balance and clarity. For instance, you could use Heart Chakra points (HT7) for emotional release and Third Eye points (such as Yintang) for clarity.

  • if you’re doing this work remotely, you could teach your client where the points are, and then send the relevant oils to them. Or if they’re already a doTERRA customer of yours, you can direct them to their back office to purchase their products.

4. Encourage the client to engage in deep breathing or mindfulness exercises while the essential oils work on the acupoints. This enhances the mind-body connection and aids in emotional release.

5. When you meet next, seamlessly integrate your personal coaching techniques while your client is practicing the aroma acupoint therapy. Discuss thoughts, feelings, and insights that arise during the session. Use open-ended questions to guide the client towards self-discovery and clarity.

6. As a closing ritual, offer the client a moment of reflection with a personalised essential oil blend. This could either be a recommended dilution ration of the oils they’ve practiced with, or it could be a new blend that can serve as a reminder of the insights gained during the session and support continued emotional well-being.

Encourage the client to incorporate self-administered aroma acupoint therapy between sessions and using the provided essential oil blend. This empowers them to continue their emotional release and clarity journey independently.

Note: Always consider any allergies or sensitivities the client may have and ensure the essential oils used are suitable for their individual needs. Additionally, clearly communicate the integration of aroma acupoint therapy into your coaching approach and obtain the client's consent before proceeding.

Tips for Integrative AromaEnergetics Success

Here are a few tips to help you maximise your results with using this modality in your practice.

First, establish a clear intention for each session. To achieve the best energetic balance results, you have to continually attune to your client's energy.

When you hold space in this way during your sessions, you effectively facilitate a transformative experience for your clients.

For example: Imagine a client seeking stress relief. Before starting the AromaEnergetics Protocol, take a moment to set the intention for relaxation and stress reduction. Throughout the session, attune to the subtle shifts in their energy, adjusting the essential oils and acupoints accordingly. By opening this space through intentional oil choices and thoughtful acupoint application, you guide your client towards a deeply relaxing experience, the very thing they’ve set the intention to resolve.

For better results, make sure you personalise the essential oil blends for each client. This way, the therapeutic benefits align precisely with their unique needs and preferences.
